Members of the Public Garden Walkers’ Association in Hyderabad have submitted a request to Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy for the renovation of the garden and daily maintenance. They highlighted the lack of amenities such as dustbins, washrooms, broken benches, and damaged swings in the garden.

Despite previous requests for action, including one from ex-MLA Meraj Hussain in 2022, little progress has been made in addressing these issues. The garden is home to various important sites like the YSR Archaeological Museum, Health Museum, Lalitha Kala Thoranam, Jawahar Bal Bhawan, Indira Priyadarshini auditorium, and Jubilee Hall.

Mohammed Abid Ali, a regular walker in the garden, emphasized the need for funds to be allocated in the upcoming Assembly budget session for the renovation of historical sites and improving the overall look of the garden. He stressed the importance of taking immediate action to preserve Hyderabad’s heritage and restore public trust in the government’s commitment to its citizens.
