Hyderabad: In the Rachakonda area, SHE Teams apprehended 187 individuals for bothering women in various locations. Among them, 107 were minors. Legal actions, including criminal and petty charges, were taken, and those involved received counseling.
The police received complaints from direct sources, WhatsApp, and social media. Incidents took place at hotspots like metro stations, bus stops, workplaces, and colleges between July 16 and 31 in the Rachakonda region.
The individuals caught had to attend counseling sessions at the Police Commissioner’s camp office in LB Nagar. G Sudheer Babu, the Rachakonda Police Commissioner, noted that minors received guidance from senior psychologists.
In addition, six people were caught during undercover operations in places like metro trains and were fined. The Rachakonda Police also worked with self-help groups to run programs raising awareness about the harms of child marriages.
