The Election Commission of India has issued a notification for the Assembly elections in Telangana. In response, the Telangana Congress is preparing for a Bus yatra with selected senior leaders. The yatra is tentatively planned to begin on October 15 or in the third week of this month.
AICC senior leaders Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi, and other national leaders will be attending the yatra. The main goal of the yatra is to connect with voters and explain the “six guarantees” that will be fulfilled if Congress comes to power.
The party’s high command is aiming to announce the candidates’ names by October 20. However, the central screening committee is taking longer than expected due to pressure from Telangana Congress leadership. The TPCC leadership is concerned that many ticket aspirants may leave the party once the names are announced.
