Congress leader Rahul Gandhi mocked the BJP’s promise to appoint a backward caste leader as chief minister in Telangana, questioning how they could do so with such a low percentage of votes. Speaking at a rally in Kalwakurthy, Gandhi stated that the Congress had deflated the BJP’s confidence in the state. He sarcastically asked how the BJP could appoint a chief minister with only two percent of the votes.
Gandhi also criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi, suggesting that he might claim to make an OBC President in the US. He dismissed this statement, stating that the BJP would not be able to appoint a President in America or a Chief Minister in Telangana. He further joked that they might even promise a BC CM on the moon.
Gandhi accused the BJP of having a secret understanding with the ruling BRS in Telangana, which is why they remain silent on corruption issues. He questioned why the BJP was not taking action against BRS leaders when they were quick to file cases against opposition leaders. Gandhi mentioned that he himself had faced 24 cases, including the cancellation of his Lok Sabha membership and the seizure of his government house.
