Hyderabad: Police arrested two men from Maheshwaram at Secunderabad Railway Station for smuggling over 10 kg of ganja from Odisha. This action was part of a police operation aimed at catching drug dealers during the festive season. The seized drugs, valued at over Rs 5.4 lakh, were intended for distribution in Telangana, especially for the Dasara Festival.

Railway police, led by Deputy Superintendent SN Jawed, carried out a sudden anti-drug inspection on trains and platforms at Kacheguda railway station. During this operation, they caught Madugula Arjun, who works at a car service center, and Vatti Srinivas, a milk salesman. Both admitted to buying the ganja in Berhampur, Odisha, and bringing it to Hyderabad on the Konark Express.

Officials stated that the two men bought 10 kilograms of ganja from an unidentified person in the Berhampur forest for Rs 3,000 per kilogram. They packed the drugs into seven packets, which they stored in two backpacks. Initially, the men consumed ganja themselves but later started selling it in Hyderabad and nearby areas for easy money.
