Nagarkurnool: MLA Dr. K Rajesh Reddy has warned against taking bribes from people entitled to government welfare programs like Indiramma Housing and Kalyana Lakshmi.
Complaints have reached him about leaders demanding money from those meant to benefit. In a recent case in Bijinapally mandal, someone extorted funds, prompting the MLA to direct the local police to file a case against the perpetrator. He expressed frustration, saying, “If a family is given one lakh rupees and intermediaries take Rs 20,000-30,000, what remains for the poor?”
He urged residents to report any future demands for money directly to him. The MLA firmly stated that anyone, regardless of their connection to him or political standing, who interferes with what beneficiaries deserve, will face strict consequences.
