Hyderabad: The festival of Raksha Bandhan, celebrating the special relationship between brothers and sisters, was joyfully observed throughout the state on Saturday.
Telangana officials, including Ministers Danasari Anasuya and Konda Surekha, joined with members of the Brahma Kumaris spiritual group. They, along with State Women’s Commission Chairperson Nerella Sharada and other female leaders, tied rakhis to Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy.
Telangana Governor Jishnu Dev Varma and Chief Minister Revanth Reddy sent their good wishes to the public. The Governor’s message from Raj Bhavan highlighted the festival’s importance, saying it represents the enduring Indian tradition of brother-sister bonds. He expressed hope that the love symbolized by the rakhi would deepen affection and strengthen eternal togetherness.
