    The Pharmacy Council of India (PCI) declared March 6 as National Pharmacy Education Day in honor of Professor Mahadeva Lal Schroff. A Pharma Anveshan-2024 event was held at Sultan-ul-Uloom College of Pharmacy to commemorate his role in founding pharmacy education in India. Professor Schroff established the B Pharmacy Course for the first time in the country in 1937 at Banaras Hindu University.

    The theme of Pharma Anveshan–2024, set by the Pharmacy Council of India, is ‘Leveraging Synergism: Industry-Academia Partnership for Implementation of National Education Policy, 2020’. Dr M Venkata Ramana, Executive Council Member of PCI, discussed the National Education Policy and its implementation in various pharmacy courses.

    The Pharmacy Council of India selected two colleges from each state to sponsor Pharma Anveshan-2024, with Sultan-ul-Uloom College of Pharmacy being one of the chosen institutions. K Raja Bhanu, Executive Director of Pharmaceuticals Export Promotion Council of India, highlighted the growth of the pharmacy sector in India and the opportunities available for pharmacy students to contribute to this growth.

    Dr T Sumalini from the University of Hyderabad explained the aspects of the National Education Policy and its benefits for future students, emphasizing a learner-centric approach that allows students to pursue their passions. Dr Anupama Koneru, Principal of Sultan-ul-Uloom College of Pharmacy, along with other faculty members, delegates, and students, also attended the event.
