US media has identified a young national guardsman, Jack Teixeira, as the possible source of the security breach. He was the leader of a group on social media platform Discord called Thug Shaker Central, where he regularly posted documents for months. The group had around 24 members, including people from Russia and Ukraine, who bonded over their love for guns, military gear, and God.
The Wall Street Journal reported that an arrest could take place as early as Thursday. However, Teixeira has not been officially identified as a suspect.
