6.0 Magnitude Earthquake Hits Canada’s West Coast without Any Injuries Reported

A 6.0 magnitude earthquake happened off the coast of western Canada on Thursday. The earthquake wasn’t deep in the water and happened over 140 miles southwest of Port McNeil, on Vancouver Island in British Columbia. The earthquake hit at 8:44 am local time and there were no reports of damage or injuries. The earthquake did not cause a tsunami. The region sees smaller earthquakes several times per year, but this one was a bit more unusual. British Columbia emergency services tweeted that there was no tsunami threat to BC.
