Residents of Old City in Hyderabad express displeasure over foul odor.

The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation is investigating a strong and unusual smell that residents in areas along the Musi River complained about. The residents in Mangalhat, Begum Bazar, Tappachabutra, Jiyaguda, Darussalam, Chaderghat and Malakpet reported smells of chemicals or gas. Some people even reported headaches, nausea and respiratory discomfort. The GHMC collected water samples from the Musi and sent them for analysis to determine if the odour was due to pollution. The officials are waiting for the results.
