Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy praised Babu Jagjivan Ram, a freedom fighter and former Deputy Prime Minister of India, for his remarkable services to the people of the country. He described Jagjivan Ram’s life as inspiring and his contributions to the nation as significant. This tribute was given on the occasion of Jagjivan Ram’s 117th birth anniversary.
Revanth Reddy highlighted how Jagjivan Ram, who came from a humble background, achieved great heights through hard work. He mentioned Jagjivan Ram’s active participation in the freedom struggle, his role in the Constituent Assembly, and his tenure as India’s first Minister of Labour under Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru. The Chief Minister also commended Jagjivan Ram for his work as Union Agriculture Minister, especially during the Green Revolution and his efforts to uplift Dalits by fighting against untouchability and caste discrimination.
The Chief Minister emphasized Jagjivan Ram’s contributions to various sectors such as agriculture, railways, and transport. He stated that the State government is dedicated to fulfilling Jagjivan Ram’s vision and governing with inspiration from his leadership.
