Hyderabad: Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy compared the upcoming election in Warangal to historic battles between the Delhi sultanate and Kakatiyas. He urged voters to defeat the current Delhi rulers in this important ‘battle’.

The day before Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Warangal, Revanth Reddy called on voters to question him about the BJP government’s failure to fulfill promises from the AP Reorganisation Act 2014. He spoke at a large road show in Warangal (West), emphasizing the battle for Telangana’s pride against Gujarat’s arrogance.

Revanth Reddy likened the election to a ‘dangal’ between Telangana and Gujarat, vowing to ensure Gujarat’s defeat. He mentioned the opposing teams of Modi and Amit Shah on one side, and Rahul Gandhi and himself on the other. He drew parallels to past battles fought by the Kakatiyas against Delhi Sultans, asserting that it was now time to defeat the current rulers of Delhi.

Accusing BRS of colluding with the BJP, Revanth Reddy alleged that BRS had fielded a ‘dummy’ candidate in Warangal to help BJP win. He claimed there was a secret understanding between BRS and BJP to damage Congress’s chances in the election. He warned that the cadre would eventually teach KCR a lesson for his actions.

Revanth Reddy listed promises from the Reorganisation Act for Telangana that had not been fulfilled by the BJP government. He questioned why Warangal had not received projects like the Bayyaram steel plant and Kazipet Coach factory, which were promised. He criticized the lack of funding for important sites like Ramappa and Thousand Pillar temple, as well as the transfer of industries to Gujarat instead of Warangal.
