Students from the Government Science Degree College in Nellikonda, located in the Nagarkurnool district, have raised a significant concern. On Friday, they approached District SP Vaibhav Gaikwad Raghunath to seek help with a pressing issue. The students reported that a nearby rice mill is releasing harmful black pollutants every day, negatively impacting their college environment.
Upon arriving at the college, students have been experiencing various symptoms like headaches, eye irritation, and breathing difficulties. They urgently requested SP Gaikwad to take action to protect them from these health issues.
Around 100 students gathered to meet with the SP, explaining that the pollution is so intense that it disrupts their ability to attend classes and focus on their studies. The students also mentioned that faculty members are experiencing significant discomfort due to the pollution.
Two weeks prior, the students had already communicated their concerns to the rice mill management, but no action had been taken to address the problem.
Taking the students’ concerns seriously, the SP promised that the issue would be resolved immediately. He stated that he would discuss the matter with the District Collector to ensure a quick resolution for the students. Encouraging the students to concentrate on their studies, he assured them that addressing their concerns was his responsibility, and he committed to resolving the issue without delay.
