Hyderabad – The Telangana State Government has approved ₹162.54 crore for a new water project that aims to connect the Munneru River and Paleru Reservoir. A government order has been issued to begin work on this important canal.

Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy shared details about the plan. He said the government will divert nearly 10 TMC (thousand million cubic feet) of floodwater from the Munneru River, which otherwise goes to waste, into the Paleru Reservoir.

This move will help stabilize irrigation for about 2.54 lakh acres of farmland. Out of this, around 1.30 lakh acres lie within the Paleru constituency alone.
