Hyderabad: Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TGSRTC) staff recently showcased their honesty and dedication to duty. They returned bags left on buses, containing items worth Rs 19 lakh, to the owners.
On May 25, a woman traveling from Suryapet to Hyderabad forgot her bag on the bus. Conductor K Anjaiah and driver Yakub Pasha found it at the Suryapet station. Inside were gold ornaments worth Rs six lakh and a mobile phone. They promptly delivered the bag to the Suryapet depot, where it was later returned to the passenger with RTC officials present.
Earlier, on May 15, another passenger forgot a bag with gold ornaments valued at Rs eight lakh on a Hyderabad Airport Pushpak bus. Driver Mubeen discovered it at Alvin Cross Road while heading to Lingapally. He handed it to Miyapur-2 depot officials.
On the same day, a passenger left a bag containing Rs 3.50 lakh in cash, two gold bangles, and a laptop, totaling Rs five lakh, in a Maroka Airport bus at Shilparamam. Driver Ramesh identified and returned it to the passenger with authorities present.
TGSRTC MD Sajjanar praised the staff of the Suryapet and Miyapur-2 depots, including K Anjaiah, drivers Yakub Pasha, Mubeen, and Ramesh, for their integrity. He emphasized how the RTC staff’s honesty in returning these valuable items has earned them admiration within the community.
