Tucker Carlson, a popular news anchor for Fox News, has left the channel. Shortly after his exit, Russian state-run media outlet Russia Today offered him a job. Carlson has been praised by the Kremlin for criticizing US support for Ukraine and its President. When asked why they want Carlson, Russia Today said they welcome diverse personalities on their network. Meanwhile, a separate report said that Fox owner Rupert Murdoch made the decision to part ways with Carlson. This came after the channel settled a defamation lawsuit with Dominion Voting Systems for $787.5m and a former producer on Carlson’s show accused the network of sexism and a hostile work environment.
