Hyderabad: Sathvika Gupta, the founder of the Rastriya Gaurav awards and an Occupational Health and Environmental Safety Officer, recently inaugurated the National Silk Expo-2024. This event is being held at the Kalinga Cultural Hall on Road no. 12, Banjara Hills. The expo, organized by Jagdishwar Hastkala, will run for nine days until November 17, 2024.
Sathvika Gupta emphasized the importance of such platforms, stating that they help women find well-designed, handmade cotton and silk clothing under one roof. The expo features exclusive silk saris and various handloom creations, giving shoppers a unique opportunity to explore traditional craftsmanship.
Jayesh Kumar, the organizer of the event, highlighted the main goal of the exhibition. He explained that the social objective is to promote weavers by providing them with a market for their handloom products. The exhibition ensures that customers can purchase silk and cotton items directly from the weavers, cutting out middlemen, and supporting the handloom industry.
The expo showcases a wide range of handcrafted silk and cotton products, offering visitors a chance to buy authentic items directly from the creators themselves.
