SBIT College Vice Chairman, Gundala Kavitha, emphasized the important role women play in building society. She spoke as the chief guest at the International Women’s Day celebrations held at the college on Saturday. After lighting the lamp, she addressed the students and reminded them of the oppression and inequalities women have faced for centuries. She also praised the women who fought for their rights and helped shape today’s movement, stating that “half the sky is half the opportunities.”

The college principal, Dr. G. Rajkumar, encouraged women to understand their role in society. He advised them to work towards creating their own space and contribute to the country’s development.

As part of the celebrations, various competitions were held for students. Later, prizes were awarded to the winners of dance performances, traditional dress competitions, and essay writing contests.
