Kothagudem: N Balram, the leader of Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL), raised concerns about local hospitals not requesting necessary medical tools on time.
In a meeting on Thursday with Area Medical Officers, he emphasized the urgent need for hospitals to quickly submit requests for important equipment and medicines.
He insisted that during inspections, no staff should report missing equipment.
Balram urged that regardless of set plans, hospitals must identify their equipment needs and submit requests promptly.
Doctors and technicians are already assigned to these hospitals, and the company is willing to provide more staff if required. However, many minor cases are still being sent to Hyderabad for treatment.
He noted that referral costs have skyrocketed from Rs 30 crores to Rs 100 crores over the past three years and expressed disappointment in the doctors’ performance.
Efforts are also being made to build a super specialty hospital in Hyderabad.
