Khammam: On Thursday, Deputy Chief Minister M Bhatti Vikramarka gathered with ministers Komatireddy Venkat Reddy, Tummala Nageswara Rao, and Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy; MP R Raghuram Reddy; MLAs; local leaders; and District Collectors to review various government programs in the district.
The review covered initiatives like Indiramma Housing, Bhu Bharathi, paddy procurement, a health action plan for the monsoon, and the Agriculture Department’s advance cultivation efforts.
During the meeting, Bhatti instructed the police to crack down on the sale of fake seeds, emphasizing that fake seeds waste both the money and efforts of farmers. He encouraged collaboration with Andhra Pradesh officials to tackle this issue. The Deputy Chief Minister praised the district for its record grain purchase and timely payments to farmers.
Bhatti also mentioned that the Bhu Bharati Act should be used to solve land issues and that awareness programs have been set up in mandals to educate people about this act.
He urged officials to plan grand State Formation Day celebrations. He recommended starting with a national flag hoisting in the morning, followed by celebrations and cultural events at the Assembly constituency headquarters in the evening.
In response to the early monsoon, Komatireddy advised that all necessary fertilizers and seeds should be prepared for the upcoming cultivation season.
