Hyderabad: The South Central Railway (SCR) held a meeting at Rail Nilayam, Secunderabad to discuss safety and prepare for the monsoon season, expecting rain across the zone.
During the meeting, officials focused on safety measures for train operations during the rainy season. They emphasized conducting safety drives and strengthening patrols in vulnerable areas like tracks and bridges that might experience heavy rain. Arun Kumar Jain, the General Manager of SCR, urged divisional railway managers to ensure the signaling systems work properly to prevent failures in the rain.
He also stressed the importance of passenger safety by inspecting all safety-related assets. Officials were instructed to boost track patrolling by deploying more RPF and track staff to detect any threatening activities. They talked about the use of CCTVs throughout the zone, including private areas, to enhance security and transparency.
Additionally, the General Manager launched a new version, 2.0, of e-DAS (Electronic Drawing Approval System). This system will help maintain engineering drawing databases and assist in obtaining approvals from authorities.
