South Central Railway (SCR) conducted a safety review meeting on train operations across the zone on Monday.
During the meeting, they emphasized the need to take precautions to avoid water accumulation at Road Over Bridges (ROBs) and Road Under Bridges (RUBs) during the monsoon season. They instructed officials to identify all vulnerable RUBs where water logging problems persist.
SCR recommended providing adequate pumping arrangements and water gauges at these locations. They also stressed the importance of round-the-clock staffing at vulnerable RUBs that might flood.
Arun Kumar Jain, the general manager of SCR, advised installing CCTV surveillance in major railway yards to protect railway assets. He reviewed the stock of smoke detectors and fire extinguishers across the zone and instructed officials to ensure there are enough fire safety supplies.
Additionally, he reviewed the progress of ongoing works throughout the zone.
