Hyderabad: South Central Railway (SCR) gave out ‘Man of the Month’ safety awards to 14 employees on Monday. These awards were given to recognize their alertness and dedication to duty. The awards were presented during a safety review meeting.
The awarded employees work in different roles, including loco pilots, station masters, technicians, pointsmen, gatekeepers, and track maintainers. SCR officials praised them for their efforts in maintaining safety across the railway zone.
During the meeting, Arun Kumar Jain, General Manager of SCR, advised the staff to carefully plan duty schedules for loco pilots, assistant loco pilots, and guards. He said this would help reduce working hours and ensure staff get proper rest.
He also highlighted the importance of train safety. Jain said there will be special checks to make sure employees and contract workers follow safety rules during track maintenance and while loading or unloading goods.
He added that once the fencing work along the railway tracks is finished, it will make the tracks safer. This will allow trains to run faster and help improve their on-time performance.
