Secunderabad Cantonment MLA Sri Ganesh is pushing forward with major improvements in the area’s infrastructure. One of his latest achievements is securing a ₹23.5 crore sports complex at Dhobi Ghat, made official through a new Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). This project is part of a larger effort to tackle long-standing issues, especially the critical water shortage in the Cantonment.
Just four days ago, MLA Ganesh met with Chief Minister Revanth Reddy to discuss the water crisis and other local concerns. The meeting led to immediate action. The Chief Minister directed Hyderabad Water Works MD Ashok Reddy to speed up the planning and implementation of water supply solutions.
On the heels of that discussion, a high-level meeting took place today at the Cantonment Board office. Attendees included Ashok Reddy, Cantonment CEO Madhukar Nayak, and other senior officials. They planned the logistics for delivering an extra 1 million gallons of water per day (MGD), recently approved by the government.
MLA Ganesh shared that the government is ready to build overhead tanks, pump houses, and even a new reservoir, if land becomes available. He said current storage capacity is not enough to meet residents’ needs.
He criticized past administrations for neglecting basic development. But he praised the current Congress government for focusing on public welfare and ensuring state funds are used to improve essential services. He encouraged local departments to present proposals quickly to move projects forward.
Ganesh thanked CEO Madhukar Nayak and MD Ashok Reddy for their commitment to permanent solutions, not just short-term fixes. He said these steps will help secure a reliable water supply for the future of the Secunderabad Cantonment.
He also expressed deep gratitude to Chief Minister Revanth Reddy for actively supporting development in the constituency.
The meeting also included top officials such as CGM Brajesh, GMs Rajasekhar Reddy, Sridhar Reddy, Vinod, Water Works Superintendent Raj Kumar, and Nominated Member Smt. Bhanuka Narmada. All are now working together to bring lasting improvements to the community.
