Secunderabad Starts Sweets and Kites Festival

The International Sweets and Kites Festival has begun at the Parade Grounds in Secunderabad. This lively event, organized by the Telangana Tourism Department, brings together colorful kites and delicious sweets. People from about 19 countries, including residents and kite enthusiasts, have gathered for the festival.

Around 50 kite flyers from various Indian cities, along with local youth from the twin cities and nearby regions, are showing off their kite-flying skills. The sky is filled with kites of different shapes and sizes. Stalls are displaying unique kite designs from countries like Thailand, Indonesia, Australia, Nigeria, Canada, Japan, France, Italy, Russia, Switzerland, and Malaysia, captivating the crowd.

Alongside the kite activities, there are 60 stalls offering a variety of sweets. The festival is well-guarded, with about 200 police officers ensuring safety for everyone attending.

The festival runs for three days, from January 13th to 15th, and is open from 10:00 AM to 9:00 PM. Additionally, a hot air balloon festival is happening at three locations outside Hyderabad. Hot air balloon rides at the Parade Grounds will take place from January 16th to 19th, available in the late afternoon and evening from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM.
