The Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) is discontinuing some bus schemes due to the increasing number of passengers using the Mahalakshmi scheme, a free bus service for women. Recently, the corporation stopped offering family-24 and T-6 tickets in the Greater Hyderabad region, and now they have also withdrawn the T-9 ticket for senior citizens.

Last year, the corporation introduced the T-9 ticket as a convenient and budget-friendly option for senior citizens and women. These tickets were valid from 9 am to 4 pm. However, now that women can travel for free under the Mahalakshmi scheme, there has been confusion and dissatisfaction among senior citizens who were using the budget-friendly ticket.

On Wednesday, senior citizens were surprised when bus conductors refused to issue the T-9 ticket. They were instead forced to purchase regular tickets. Many passengers expressed their frustration towards the bus conductors for withdrawing the ticket without any prior notice. One passenger shared their experience of being denied the senior citizen ticket when they boarded a specific bus route.
