The Cyberabad Municipal Corporation (CMC) food safety teams conducted a routine inspection at Shah Gouse Restaurant located opposite Biodiversity Park, Raidurg, Gachibowli Road on 27 June 2026. The inspection revealed multiple hygiene violations, prompting officials to recommend an improvement notice for the popular eatery. The restaurant scored 60 out of 92 marks, achieving a 65 percent hygiene rating during the assessment.

Inspectors observed several critical hygiene issues during their visit to the establishment. The kitchen premises showed poor housekeeping standards with significant accumulation of grease, dirt, and dust. Houseflies were found throughout the kitchen area, raising concerns about food contamination. The non-vegetarian cutting area was particularly unhygienic, with inspectors noting a high risk of cross-contamination. Additionally, the restaurant had open drains and food waste accumulation, while the wash area was found to be unclean and the storeroom had visible leakage problems.

Further violations included semi-prepared food items stored without proper labels, which is a breach of food safety protocols. The restaurant management failed to produce water testing records when requested by the inspection team. Inspectors also noted gutka stains on the kitchen walls, indicating tobacco use in food preparation areas, which is a serious violation of food safety norms.

The inspection team acknowledged one positive aspect of the restaurant’s operations. Food handlers were observed using caps and aprons while working, demonstrating compliance with basic personal hygiene requirements. However, this single good practice was overshadowed by the numerous violations identified during the comprehensive inspection.

Following the inspection, the CMC food safety teams recommended an Improvement Notice to the restaurant management. The notice requires the establishment to address all identified violations and improve its hygiene standards. This inspection is part of the ongoing food safety drive across Cyberabad aimed at ensuring safe food practices and better hygiene standards in restaurants and eateries throughout the region.
