Hyderabad: The Women Safety Wing of the Telangana Police has launched an important message for the city’s Ganesh immersion festivities from August 29 to September 5: “Celebrate with Devotion, Not with Wrong Intention – SHE Teams are in Action.”
To ensure safety during the festival, the Hyderabad City Police SHE Teams are providing continuous security, focusing on women and children. Officers in plain clothes and surveillance cameras will monitor busy areas, major junctions, and key immersion routes. They aim to quickly stop any instance of eve-teasing, misbehavior, stalking, or harassment. A strong warning has been issued, promising strict action against offenders.
The SHE Teams advise the public to stay alert in crowded places and report any misconduct right away. They highlight the importance of being wary of fake online profiles, limiting personal information shared on social media, and securing online accounts with strong passwords and two-factor authentication.
“Let’s all celebrate this Ganesh Festival with devotion and dignity,” said Dr. Lavanya NJP, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Women Safety Wing, Hyderabad. “Our teams are here to ensure everyone can participate safely. We encourage everyone to report any harassment they encounter or see.”
The SHE Teams wish all citizens of Hyderabad a Happy and Prosperous Ganesh Festival, emphasizing that safety and devotion should go together. For help, contact them by dialing 100 or via WhatsApp at 9490616555.
