Shivadhar Reddy is now the new Director General of Police for Telangana. He officially started his role today, accompanied by the chanting of Vedic hymns. In his first public speech, Reddy thanked the Telangana government for his new position and shared his plans to meet the role’s goals.
One of his immediate tasks is to ensure the upcoming local elections are peaceful. He also pointed out that there are 17,000 unfilled jobs in the police department and plans to speed up the hiring process.
Reddy wants to improve police work by using more technology in their daily operations. He assured that there would be close cooperation with cyber security and Eagle teams to strengthen both basic and visual policing methods. Reddy also warned about harmful posts on social media, saying action will be taken against those who damage others’ reputations online.
