In Hyderabad, during September 2025, Dr. P. Nikila Reddy, the first runner-up of Mrs. Belleza Telangana, opened the National Silk Expo-2025. This event, held at Kalinga Cultural Hall in Banjara Hills, is organized by Jagdishwar Hastkala. Dr. Reddy emphasized the importance of such platforms for women seeking unique handmade cotton and silk garments, as well as exclusive silk saris and handloom products.
Jayesh Kumar, the exhibition’s organizer, announced that the expo will run until 16th September 2025. He stated that the main goal of the handloom exhibition is to support weavers by providing them with a marketplace. These events help create opportunities for weavers to sell their handmade goods, even in areas where such exhibitions might not usually occur. Kumar highlighted that the exhibition aims to connect customers directly with weavers, ensuring the delivery of authentic silk and cotton products without middlemen.
