Hyderabad: D Sridhar Babu, Minister for IT & Industries, called on UAE business leaders to join efforts in reaching a $3 trillion economy for the state. He officially launched the ‘Investopia Global’ investment summit, co-hosted by the UAE and Telangana Government at HICC.
Telangana has plans to grow its infrastructure, including dry ports, logistics parks, and industrial corridors. Initiatives like net-zero industrial parks, EV zones, and green logistics hubs will drive industrial progress. Projects such as the Regional Ring Road and Metro Phase–2 are set to boost development. The Future City aims to become a global center for FinTech, Climate Tech, and Smart Mobility. Telangana is rapidly expanding in data centers, AI labs, and aerospace clusters.
Though small in size, Telangana is ambitious and effective. It quickly emerged as a development model for others. In 2024–25, Telangana’s GSDP grew by 8.2%, surpassing the national average of 7.6%. The state’s GDP contribution to the nation is over 5%.
Over 18 months, Telangana attracted Rs 3.2 lakh crore in new investments. Exports to the UAE grew 2.5 times in 2024–25, with pharma, aerospace, digital services, and food processing sectors thriving. UAE firms like Lulu Group, DP World, and NAFFCO have invested in Telangana. The summit is both a gathering of old allies and a platform for future ventures. Telangana offers opportunities in AI, life sciences, renewable energy, logistics, aerospace, electric vehicles, tourism, and more.
The Minister invited UAE investors to explore Telangana’s potential. Abdullah Bin Touq Al Marri, UAE Minister of Economy and Tourism, and other key officials like Sanjay Kumar, K Shashank, Mohammed Al Wahaibi, Walid Hareb Al Falahi, and Dr. Jean Fares attended the event.
