Hyderabad Metro Rail (HMR) has become a success story that is now being studied by management practitioners and students at Stanford University in California, USA. The study was conducted by a team led by Professor Ram Nidumolu from the Indian School of Business (ISB) in Hyderabad.

According to HMR managing director NVS Reddy, the study was featured in the spring 2024 issue of the Stanford Social Innovation Review (SSIR), a journal that focuses on impactful projects and leadership styles that provide innovative solutions to global problems.

The study highlighted the successful leadership experience of HMR and introduced a new concept of stakeholder management. It emphasized the importance of engaging all stakeholders, including the media, in building mega public-purpose infrastructure projects using private sector capital and resources for the greater social good.
