The Government of Telangana has constituted a State-Level High Level Committee to examine and resolve all pending cases related to properties included in the prohibitory list under Section 22-A of the Registration Act, 1908. The order, numbered G.O.Rt. No. 564, was issued on 17th September 2026 by the Revenue (Land Administration-I) Department. The committee will be chaired by the Chief Commissioner of Land Administration, Telangana, Hyderabad, with the Secretary to Government, Legal Affairs, Legislative Affairs & Justice Department, Hyderabad serving as a member and the Inspector General of Registration and Stamps, Telangana, Hyderabad functioning as the Member-Convenor.
The committee has been assigned specific terms of reference to address four major categories of pending property cases. These include pending registrations of plots within layouts approved by competent authorities, properties located in the Singareni coal belt area, cases arising under G.O. Ms. No. 59, Revenue (Assignment. I) Department, dated 30-2-2014, and the conversion of leasehold properties to freehold in the Secunderabad area. The formation of this committee aims to expedite the resolution of long-pending property registration matters that have been affecting landowners and property buyers across the state.
The committee has been granted extensive powers to facilitate its functioning and ensure effective resolution of cases. It may call for records and information from any department, head of department, or District Collector as required. Additionally, the committee has the authority to co-opt such officers as it considers necessary for examining specific cases or providing technical expertise. This flexibility in structure is expected to enable the committee to handle complex property matters that involve multiple government departments and legal considerations.
The order was signed by Lokesh Kumar D. S., Secretary to Government, and issued in the name of the Governor of Telangana. Copies of the order have been forwarded to the Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister, the OSD to the Minister for Revenue, and other relevant officials. The committee members and concerned departments have been officially notified to commence their work on resolving the pending property registration cases under the specified categories.
