The new Congress government in Telangana has successfully increased revenue generation through tax collection in the past three months. In February, the government collected a record-breaking Rs 13,703.92 crore in revenue, the highest ever for a single month in the current financial year.

Before this achievement, the average monthly revenue collection was only Rs 11,286 crore over an 11-month period. This means that the tax collection in February alone was Rs 2,400 crore higher than the average monthly income for the previous 11 months. Officials credited this success to a series of administrative steps taken to improve tax collection processes.

These measures have helped streamline the tax-collecting agencies, leading to a more efficient and effective revenue collection system. The positive outcomes of these efforts are evident in the significant increase in revenue generation seen in February.
