Karimnagar: The paddy buying process in the joint Karimnagar district was well-managed, according to IT and Industries Minister Duddilla Sridhar Babu.
The government efficiently handled a record crop yield and made large-scale purchases. Sridhar Babu, along with Transport Minister Prabhakar and Power Minister N Uttam Kumar Reddy, attended a district meeting on Thursday.
Sridhar Babu announced that Rs 51 crore is being given as compensation to farmers at Rs 10,000 per acre for crop loss due to unexpected rains. He assured farmers that even soaked paddy will be bought at the support price, and tarpaulin covers will be available at purchase centers to protect crops from rain.
The minister emphasized measures to prevent losses for landowners under the Bhu Bharati Act. Landowners will receive detailed land records, similar to an Aadhaar card for land.
Minister Prabhakar noted that past issues with weighing at rice mills are now resolved in the district. He urged quick completion of projects like Malakpet, Suramma, Mothe Narayanpur, Gauravelli, and Devadula. He suggested including Bhupalpally, Hanumakonda, and Siddipet in joint district reviews.
Prabhakar stated there is no corruption in the Indiramma Housing Scheme, with 3,500 houses sanctioned for the constituency. Government programs should be communicated positively to the public.
He criticized the previous BRS government in Karimnagar Husnabad for neglecting Indiramma house constructions, with many houses incomplete over ten years. The Congress government is now allocating 3,500 houses per constituency.
