Khanapur: On Sunday, the Nirmal Collectorate Conference Hall hosted a celebration for National Statistics Day. A wreath was placed at the portrait of the famous statistician Professor PC Mahalanobis, honoring his contributions.
District Chief Planning Officer Jeevaratnam highlighted Professor Mahalanobis’ work in building the country’s statistical framework. To honor his legacy, June 29 is marked annually as National Statistics Day.
During this event, the District Statistics Handbook for 2025-26 was unveiled. Participants included retired Statistics Department officials Mohandas and Hanmandlu, Degree College faculty Ramesh, and various District Statistics Department members.
