The BRS party Kothagudem MLA, Vanama Venkateswara Rao, has received relief from the Supreme Court. The Supreme Court has put a hold on the Telangana High Court’s decision to disqualify him from his position as MLA. The defendants have been given 15 days to file a response, and the further hearing has been adjourned for four weeks.

On July 25, the Telangana High Court declared Vanama’s election invalid due to false information provided in his election affidavit. Additionally, a fine of Rs. 5 lakh was imposed. Jalagam Venkatarao will continue serving as the Kothagudem MLA since December 12, 2018. In light of this, Vanama approached the Supreme Court. Vanama, who originally won as a Congress candidate in the last election, later joined the BRS.
