Hyderabad: Telangana Minister Konda Surekha has said that farmers are the backbone of the country. She criticised the previous government, accusing it of creating problems for farmers and giving away land meant for them to others.
Speaking at a meeting at Gandhi Bhavan about the Chevella parliamentary constituency, she claimed that the Dharani portal was used to mislead farmers. According to her, some people wrongly took ownership of land through this system. She promised that the new Bhu Bharati system will help farmers by sending officials to their homes to solve land issues.
Surekha also told farmers not to trust middlemen, warning that they could take advantage of them.
Several senior Congress leaders attended the meeting, including Meenakshi Natarajan, Vishnunathan, and Vishwanatham. MLAs Kale Yadayya, Rammohan Reddy, Patnam Mahender Reddy, and Ranjith Reddy were also present.
In a separate development, BJP MP Etela Rajender criticized Congress leaders for making negative comments about Union Minister Kishan Reddy. He said that people who are not capable often speak irresponsibly. Etela also talked about the National Herald case, saying it’s not a new issue and accusing Congress of disrespecting the law by protesting. He warned that careless statements and bad behavior by Congress leaders would be strongly opposed.
