Tension arose in Rajampet during the opening of an Anna Canteen as two leaders from the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) got into a fight over who would cut the ribbon.

The clash was between Sugavasi Balasubrahmanyam and Chamarthi Jaganmohan Raju. Both leaders were claiming to be the head of the local TDP unit, which led to the argument.

The situation worsened when a student union leader, reportedly intoxicated, threw stones at Jaganmohan Raju’s house. However, Sugavasi’s supporters denied any involvement with the person responsible for the attack.
