Karimnagar: Teachers’ MLC candidate Mamidi Sudhakar Reddy has promised to fight for teachers’ rights if he wins the election. He said he would start a protest (deeksha) immediately after winning and continue until their issues are resolved.

After filing his nomination on Thursday, he took an oath to address employees’ concerns. He pledged to work towards abolishing the CPS system and, if needed, to protest against GO 317.

Reddy also assured that he would push for the implementation of the PRC, ensure the release of pending employee reimbursement bills, and fight for the provision of DA. If necessary, he said he would take strong action to achieve these goals.

Another MLC candidate, Narender Reddy, mentioned that if elected, he would donate his salary for the development of schools.

Sudhakar Reddy shared that he resigned from his teaching job in January 2019 while serving as the state president of the Teachers’ Disabled Association. He had previously contested for the MLC position and secured third place with 4,000 votes.

He explained that many association leaders and teachers had requested him to contest again in the current MLC elections, which encouraged him to enter the race.
