Wanaparthy is facing serious issues in its education department. Teachers claim that corruption is rampant, with DEO Abdul Ghani accused of favoring those who pay him and punishing those who challenge him.
The removal of S Chandrasekhar from his position as DCEB Secretary has raised concerns. Maddileti, who some say supports the DEO and gives commissions, has replaced him. Maddileti also holds other roles, including in-charge MEO and a government headmaster, leaving many teachers confused.
Adding to the controversy, Yugandhar, a CMO officer on foreign service, was appointed as an English teacher at Wanaparthy Boys High School without following proper procedures.
The appointment of Maddileti has shocked teachers further. Reports have emerged about financial issues related to the purchase of materials for Bhavitha centres. The remaining Rs 35 lakh in DCEB funds appears to be of interest to corrupt officials.
Attempts to reach the DEO for a comment were unsuccessful. Many are surprised by the apparent lack of rules in the education wing, with long-standing officials like Ravinder Reddy, Srinivasulu, and Surender Reddy staying in their positions, while only the DCEB Secretary was removed.
Reports suggest that the DEO, along with the GCDO and FAO, tried to misuse leftover funds from Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya, possibly leading to recent actions.
Recently, rooms were sealed at schools like Delhi World School, Narayana School, and Sri Chaitanya School for selling books improperly. Yet, it’s rumored that the materials were later moved with the MEO’s help after receiving commissions.
Furthermore, a private Navodaya coaching centre was reported for lacking basic facilities. Although an inquiry was claimed, no actual action was taken, allegedly due to commissions.
