The Telangana BJP Chief, Bandi Sanjay Kumar, has been sent to 14-day judicial custody in connection with the SSC paper leak case. The case pertains to the alleged leak of the Telangana State Public Service Commission (TSPSC) Group-IV examination papers in 2018.

Kumar was arrested by the Telangana Crime Investigation Department (CID) on May 31, 2021, and was produced before a magistrate on June 1, 2021. The magistrate remanded him to judicial custody for 14 days.

The SSC paper leak case has been under investigation for the past three years. The CID had arrested several people in connection with the case earlier, including a few government officials and private individuals. However, Kumar’s arrest has created a political storm in Telangana, with the BJP alleging that it is a politically motivated move by the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) party.
