Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has called for giving priority to the most disadvantaged groups under the Indiramma Housing Scheme. During a high-level review meeting, he highlighted that differently-abled individuals, agricultural laborers, landless farmers, and sanitation workers should be the main focus when allocating houses through the scheme.

The meeting was attended by Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy and Advisor V. Narender Reddy. Discussions centered on improving the process for selecting beneficiaries and allocating houses. The Chief Minister shared important suggestions to ensure the program is implemented effectively and reaches the right people.

A key point raised during the meeting was prioritizing families who already own land in the first phase of the housing program. However, the Chief Minister stressed the importance of taking precautions to avoid mistakes in the allocation process. He directed village secretaries and mandal-level officials to take responsibility for closely monitoring the implementation.

To ensure transparency, the Chief Minister emphasized the use of technical tools. He instructed that the Indiramma App be made error-free to avoid glitches or delays in data entry. This step is aimed at making the process smoother and more efficient.

The Chief Minister also proposed special measures for tribal areas and regions under the Integrated Tribal Development Agency (ITDA). He suggested allocating a special quota for these areas to address their unique needs. Additionally, he supported the idea of allowing beneficiaries to build extra rooms in their houses if they wish, providing greater flexibility for families.

To ensure the scheme’s success, Revanth Reddy urged the Housing Department to hire sufficient staff to oversee the housing projects. This would help in the effective implementation and continuation of the program.

The Indiramma Housing Scheme is a key initiative by the Telangana government to provide affordable housing to poor and marginalized communities. With these new measures, the Chief Minister aims to make the scheme more efficient and ensure that the benefits reach those who need them most.
