Hyderabad: Dr. Jitender, the Director General of Police for Telangana, retired today after a 33-year career in law enforcement. His farewell took place at the Telangana Police Academy. During the event, he spoke emotionally about personal sacrifices, including the recent passing of his mother.
Dr. Jitender expressed gratitude towards his family, saying, “I thank my wife and children for their understanding and support. Despite losing both parents, my duties often kept me away from family, but they have shown great strength.”
He recalled growing up in Punjab and described his police service as a memorable journey. He felt the past 40 years of work passed like just 40 days, highlighting the dedication his role required. He thanked the state government for his tenure as DGP, noting successes in maintaining order, fighting cybercrime, and preventing extremism.
Dr. Jitender managed various challenges, including flood responses and organizing major festivals like Ganesh Nimajjanam, Sri Rama Navami, and Bakrid without incidents.
In closing, he emphasized the Telangana Police Department’s dedication not only to local residents but also in aiding other states. His team successfully tackled financial crime by arresting betting app administrators and cybercriminals. As he retires, Dr. Jitender leaves a legacy of commitment and resilience.
