State Revenue and Civil Relations Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy has announced a pilot project to improve family identification and registration in Wanaparthy district. This was shared during a video conference with District Collectors, Additional Collectors, and State Chief Secretary Shanti Kumari from Hyderabad. The minister explained the project’s goals and how it would be carried out.

As part of the pilot project, details of family members will be collected from one gram panchayat and one municipal ward in each constituency. Every family will receive a unique identity number, and each family member will get an identity card with their own personal number. Officials are tasked with collecting the data between October 3 and October 8, and submitting a final report by October 10.

The registration process will be guided through a PowerPoint presentation, and an officer at the RDO level will oversee the project as the nodal officer. If the pilot is successful, the plan is to issue identity cards to all families and individuals across the state. In this system, the eldest woman in the family will be considered the head of the family.

During the video conference, Chief Secretary Shanti Kumari also emphasized the need to establish Urban Development Authorities in each district. She requested that reports on the progress be submitted by Thursday.

In addition, the minister reviewed the layout regularization scheme (LRS). He mentioned that 5 percent of the work is still incomplete and encouraged speeding up the process to regularize plots and layouts according to state regulations.

Wanaparthy District Collector Adarsh Surabhi confirmed the formation of committees to regulate LRS, which are already conducting fieldwork. He also mentioned that two Urban Development Authorities would be set up in the district, along with efforts to collect family details for the state’s one card program.

Other officials, including Additional Collector Local Bodies Sanchit Gangwar, Additional Collector Revenue M. Nagesh, and RDO Padmavathi, also participated in the meeting. Together, they are working towards improving family identification and urban development in Wanaparthy.
