Telangana government presents Kaleshwaram report in assembly

The Telangana Legislative Assembly is meeting for its second day. The government has shared the Kaleshwaram Commission report, prepared by Justice PC Ghosh, with the MLAs through pen drives.

In addition, the government presented two new bills: the Municipal and Panchayat Raj Amendment Bill and the Allopathic Private Medical Care Establishments Bill.

Discussions have started on the amendment to the Telangana Municipal Act 2019. Minister Sridhar Babu explained that since the debate is still in progress, they cannot pass an ordinance yet.

The main goal of the Bill is to ensure 42 percent reservation for Backward Classes (BCs) in local elections.
