Hyderabad, July 20: In a major push towards affordable housing, the Telangana government on Monday launched the construction of one lakh Indiramma houses under its flagship housing programme. The initiative aims to provide permanent homes to economically weaker families across the state and marks one of the largest phases of the government’s housing drive this year.

The programme was formally launched by the state government as part of its commitment to ensuring housing for the underprivileged. Officials said beneficiaries identified under the Indiramma housing scheme will receive financial assistance for the construction of pucca houses, with district administrations tasked with monitoring implementation and ensuring timely completion.

According to government officials, the latest phase is expected to generate employment in the construction sector while improving access to safe and permanent housing in both rural and urban areas. The initiative is also aimed at enhancing the quality of life for low-income households by providing secure residential infrastructure and basic civic amenities.
