Hyderabad’s Gachibowli area is set to witness a major infrastructure upgrade with the upcoming double decker flyover project. The ambitious plan includes significant work at two major junctions that have long been traffic bottlenecks in the city’s IT corridor. At Triple IT Junction, half of the pillar construction has already been completed. The junction will feature 3 flyovers and 1 underpass with a total budget of ₹459 crore, with target completion scheduled for May 2027. Meanwhile, Khajaguda Junction works will include 1 flyover and 1 underpass with a budget of ₹220 crore, expected to be ready by April 2027.
The centerpiece of the project is the innovative double-decker setup designed to handle multi-directional traffic efficiently. Level 1 will comprise a 4-lane, 720-meter flyover facilitating two-way traffic between ISB Road and DLF. Level 2 will feature a 3-lane, 948-meter flyover running from DLF Road towards Lingampally, along with an additional 1.2-kilometer flyover connecting ISB Road towards Gachibowli. This dual-level configuration aims to segregate traffic flows and reduce congestion at one of the busiest intersections in the IT hub.
Additional relief for commuters will come in the form of a 6-lane underpass spanning 520 meters at the Gachibowli-Lingampally junction. The project also includes dedicated infrastructure specifically designed for commuters traveling between Nanakramguda and Shaikpet. These additions are expected to significantly ease the daily traffic struggles faced by thousands of IT professionals and residents in the area.
The infrastructure development is part of a broader initiative to improve connectivity in Hyderabad’s western corridor, which has witnessed rapid growth in recent years. With construction already underway and half the pillars at Triple IT Junction in place, the project represents one of the most significant traffic management interventions in the city. The combined investment of nearly ₹679 crore across both junctions underscores the government’s commitment to addressing the region’s infrastructure needs.
