Hyderabad: The Telangana Medical Council (TGMC) is cracking down on people pretending to be doctors. They plan to file cases against these individuals at local police stations using laws like NMC 34, 54, and others.
Following directives from Chairman Dr. K Mahesh Kumar and Registrar Dr. D Lalayya Kumar, TGMC conducted surprise checks on Monday. They focused on illegal medical practitioners in the Hayathnagar area to stop unauthorized medical activities.
One of the places TGMC checked was Sunrays Hospital and Diagnostic Center. Here, Dr. Umakant, who studied Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery (BAMS), was caught offering modern medical treatments. At Sri Vijaya Brahmendra First Aid Center, Brahmendra was also found providing modern medical services without proper qualifications.
The team inspected Hanuman First Aid Center as well. Vinod, with only high school education, was illegally offering medical services. Similarly, at Sri Sai Poly Clinic, Dr. KS Prasad falsely claimed to be an MBBS graduate while practicing modern medicine after completing Bachelor of Homoeopathic Medicine and Surgery (BHMS). At Balaji First Aid Center, Rambabu was also providing unauthorized medical services.
Officials like Vice Chairman Dr. Gundagani Srinivas, Dr. KUN Vishnu, and vigilance officer Rakesh took part in these inspections. TGMC aims to protect public health by taking strong actions against these fake doctors. They will pursue further legal measures against centers breaking the rules. Dr. Srinivas urged the public to report fake doctors through antiquackerytsmc@onlinetsmc.in.
